Here I was sketching in Greece... but my art story started long ago.
Sitting in a tiny boat fishing with my husband and boys I had an epiphany. The course of my whole life changed when in a moment of desperation, trying to amuse two bored children, I used a pair of Swiss Army knife scissors to slice elephants and giraffes from a used lunch bag.
That was a long time ago, and I am still in love with paper and scissors.
Now I'm also smitten with brushes and inks, nibs and vintage type. I wax poetic about the clack of my old presses and the waterfastness of Dr.Ph. Martin's Black Star Ink. I'm mad for Japanese scissors and French paper.
I buy all my clothes at the thrift shop and save my shopping sprees for art supplies.
I still can't believe I'm living my dreams, designing for the best companies on the globe: Sunrise Greetings, Sterling Publishers, American Greetings, Demdaco, Provo Craft, Mrs Grossman's Stickers and so many others... and I travel widely, snipping portraits and teaching on cruise ships.
My work is found on fabric, gift bags, greeting cards, stickers, craft products, Christmas stockings and other simple but beautiful things I hope enrich homes and inspire hearts. I count each customer a friend and wake up every morning thankful beyond belief for being so blessed.
